Death of Neil Armstrong; A Hero

“That’s one small step for [a] man, one giant leap for mankind.”

1930-2012

All of us here at Carl Talks Physics were sad to hear the news of the passing of the first human to step foot on the Moon, Neil Armstrong. Part of a programme of space exploration that ultimately changed the way the world looked upon itself, Neil Armstrong inspired many generations to look up at the stars and strive to reach beyond them – the sky no longer limited human achievement thanks to his and countless others’ bravery and sacrifice. In a statement released yesterday, Neil’s family said “The next time you walk outside on a clear night and see the moon smiling down at you, think of Neil Armstrong and give him a wink.”
